Q: What is your role in the organization and how does that fit into the work NYCP does?

A: I am the Mobile Pantry Manager and oversee the Mobile program at NYCP. The Mobile program has nearly 60 partners and distributes around 2500 bags of food a week to them. Our partners range from churches, community centers, schools, shelters and other pantries.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?

A: A typical day is me managing the logistics, operations of the Mobile operations and communication  with our  Mobile partners.

Q: Are there any specific projects or initiatives that you are currently working on that you’re excited about?

A: I am working on a college initiative where we are partnering with a college to get a pantry into the school.

Q: How do you stay motivated and passionate about the cause, especially during challenging times?

A: I meditate and journal everyday which keeps me intentional and motivated for the day. In moments when challenges arise, I always go back to my “why” and it helps to keep me motivated and to come up with solutions.

Q: In what way has working at NYCP helped you grow both personally and professionally?

A: I have learned to utilize my voice more and trust my gut with making decisions for the betterment of my program and staff. Also I have learned to be more tech savvy to make my work more efficient and effective.

Q: Is there a message or lesson from your experience that you would like to share?

A: A challenge that I experienced at NYCP is that things can change within an instant and you have to be able to come up with a solution and pivot quickly. Another challenge is having your team be able to pivot with you and execute the new plan effortlessly, which we have learned to do without hesitation.

Q: What do you find most meaningful about the work you do?
A: I am able to do my part in carrying out the mission of New York Common Pantry.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A:  I love to cook, watch documentaries, movies, be outdoors and travel outside of the country or domestic.
