An estimated 1.4 million New Yorkers rely on emergency food programs including soup kitchens and pantries each year. New York Common Pantry reduces hunger and promotes dignity, health and self-sufficiency. Over the course of the pandemic, the pantry has distributed over 10M meals and has served over 400,000 individuals in need.
