NY Common Pantry Program Goals & Outcomes:
FY18 Goal a): By September 30, 2018, at least 70% of the adults participating in Eat Healthy, Be Active workshops will demonstrate knowledge of foods rich in fiber and the quantities needed to support a healthy diet on a post-test.
NYCP met the goal. During the OTDA Full Contract year, 75.6% (288 of 381) of Eat Healthy Be Active Adult participants demonstrated knowledge of foods rich in fiber and the quantities needed to support a healthy diet on a post-test.
FY18 Goal b): By September 30, 2018, Live Healthy! programming will have 8 active partnerships with schools in New York County and/or Bronx County.
NYCP met the goal. During the OTDA full contract year, Live Healthy! established 8 signed partnership agreements.
FY18 Goal a.1): Provide 20,000 unique individuals with 2,300,000 meals through Choice Pantry at 109th Street.
In FY18, NYCP provided 18,758 individuals with 1,919,460 meals at our 109th Street location. We reached 93% of the goal for individuals and 83% of the meals goal.
FY18 Goal a.2): Add 3rd and 4th distribution days to provide 8,633 individuals with 620,622 meals through Choice Pantry Bronx.
NYCP added a 3rd distribution day and provided 7,281 individuals with 540,258 meals. We reached 84% of the goal for individuals and 87% of the goal meals distributed.
FY18 Goal b.1): Add 2,000 new families through Choice Pantry at 109th Street.
NYCP achieved 94.5% of the goal by adding 1,890 families through Choice Pantry at 109th Street.
FY18 Goal b.2): Add 2,500 new families through Choice Pantry Bronx.
NYCP achieved 85% of the goal by adding 2,143 families through Choice Pantry Bronx.
a) Provide 2,450,000 meals through Choice Pantry including 1,800,000 at Choice Pantry Manhattan and 650,000 Choice Pantry Bronx.
b) Add 4,500 new families through Choice pantry including 2,000 at Choice Pantry Manhattan and 2,500 at Choice Pantry Bronx.
c)Ensure that at least 40% of the food we offer is fresh produce.
FY18 Goal a): Screen at least 6,000 households with Single Stop’s Benefits Enrollment Network.
NYCP exceeded the goal, screening 8,973 households for benefits.
FY18 Goal b): Ensure at least 1,500 households receive cash or non-cash benefits per year.
NYCP exceeded the goal, and 1,977 clients received cash or non-cash benefits.
FY18 Goal c): Use POS (Point of Service) system when appropriate to submit electronic applications for SNAP (Food Stamps), ensure that the site maintains at least an 80% acceptance rate for SNAP POS, and submit 25 re-certifications through POS.
NYCP exceeded the goal, submitting 115 SNAP applications and 119 recertifications, and maintained a 91.67% acceptance rate.
FY18 Goal d): Refer at least 220 households for legal counseling, at least 17 households for financial counseling, and 500 eligible filers to free tax preparation sites.
NYCP exceeded the goal, and provided 264 households with legal services, referred 44 households for financial counseling, and 729 eligible filers for free tax preparation services.
a) Screen at least 6,500 households with the approved software and ensure that 1,500 receive cash and non-cash benefits.
b) Ensure that 40 households receive financial counseling services from on-site provider.
Help 365 Mobile Goals
FY18 Goal: Reach 7,200 individuals with mobile SNAP (Food Stamp) enrollment in high-needs NYC neighborhoods, and submit 1,548 SNAP applications with 950 approvals.
NYCP met 85% of the first part of the goal, and reached 6,100 individuals; we met the goal for the second part and submitted 1,591 SNAP applications; and we met 85% of the third part of the goal with 806 approvals for benefits.
a) Submit 1,548 SNAP applications with 950 approvals.
FY18 Goal: Provide 14,000 unique individuals with 70,000 meals through the Soup Kitchen and Brown Bag services.
NYCP met 72% of the first part of the goal, serving 10,133 individuals; we met the second part of the goal with 69,468 meals through Soup kitchen and Brown Bag services.
a) Provide 14,000 unique individuals with 70,000 meals through the Soup Kitchen and Brown Bag services at 109th Street.
FY18 Goal a): Assist 50 unduplicated clients to acquire public benefits.
NYCP exceeded the goal, and assisted 64 unduplicated clients to receive public benefits.
FY18 Goal b): Help 25 unduplicated clients receive approval for the HRA 2010E Supportive Housing voucher program and successfully move at least 4 into permanent housing.
NYCP exceeded both parts of the goal, and assisted 27 unduplicated clients to receive approval for HRA 2010E supportive housing and successfully moved 5 into permanent housing.
a) Help 30 unduplicated clients receive on-site psychiatric services and/or psychiatric evaluations for supportive applications.
b) Project Dignity will help 50 unduplicated clients acquire public benefits: SNAP, Medicaid, and or Cash Assistance.
FY18 Goal a): Provide between 12,468 and 13,124 individuals with between 3,441,112 and 3,622,224 meals.
NYCP exceeded the first part of the goal and met the second, providing 14,985 individuals with 3,565,414 meals.
FY18 Goal b): Distribute all Farmers Market coupons received during the contract period.
NYCP met the goal, and distributed 8,990 coupons.
a) Provide 13,038 individuals with 3,598,433 meals
FY18 Goal a): 1) Increase volunteer hours to 60,440 through 20,146 volunteer shifts agency-wide, including 48,000 hours at 109th St, 11,000 hours at CPBX, 1200 at Nourish sites, and 240 with Live Healthy!
In FY18 NYCP engaged a total of 73,726 volunteer hours through 22,125 volunteer shifts including 58,066 volunteer hours at 109th Street, 9,915 volunteer hours at Choice Pantry Bronx, 5,485 at Nourish sites, and 393 Live Healthy! hours. We exceeded the Agency total goals, the goals for 109 Street, Nourish and Live Healthy!, and achieved 90% of the goal for Choice Pantry Bronx.
FY18 Goal b): Continue to grow food rescue and recovery routes to ensure we have proper presence to handle existing and new relationships with the aid of a 3rd van and new systems, and add at least 10 new pick up sites.
In FY18, we created new systems including online donation scheduling and online donation tracking forms and ordered a new refrigerated truck. We added 8 new partners. NYCP met the goal of creating systems and achieved 80% of the new sites goal.
a) Maintain 70,000 total volunteer hours through 21,000 volunteer shifts agency-wide, including 58,100 hours at Manhattan, 11,000 hours at Choice Pantry Bronx, 600 at 138th Street, and 300 with Live Healthy!
b) Report on upgraded food rescue for healthier food and creation of Live Healthy! menu for Choice Pantry.
