Your planned gift will help ensure that New York Common Pantry (NYCP) continues to serve New Yorkers in need. You will also benefit from the Pantry’s distinction as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Please contact Neill Bogan, Senior Director of Development and Communications, at (917) 720-9707 or nbogan@nycommonpantry.org to discuss your plans.

Ways to Give

Bequests

An unrestricted bequest is one of the simplest ways to provide for the Pantry’s future and can take many forms. You may arrange for the Pantry to receive: a specific dollar amount, securities, real estate, tangible personal property, or the remainder of your estate after obligations.

Charitable Trusts

There are a number of different ways to structure a trust so that you, your family, and the Pantry may all benefit. Some plans include an income stream for you. We can work with you and your financial advisor to select the best plan.

Real Estate

You can minimize your taxes, earn additional income, and continue to live in your home if you choose to donate it. Real estate may be used to fund some types of trusts, may be given in all or in part, and may include commercial properties or vacation homes.

Donor Advised Funds

This type of donation allows you to make a contribution to a fund, claim an immediate tax deduction, and distribute gifts to us on your own timetable.

Retirement Assets

Pensions, life insurance, and other assets may be directly transferred to the Pantry, or included as part of a trust.

Recurring Gifts

Visit our Donation Page to set up a recurring gift. Your monthly gift will help sustain our programming throughout the year. Donors making annual gifts totaling $10,000 or more will be eligible for membership in our Bread & Butter group that recognizes and encourages major donors.

3 Easy Steps to Making a Planned Gift:

#1: Contact us for more information about your options; nbogan@nycommonpantry.org or (917) 720-9707.

#2: Let your attorney and/or financial advisor know you are considering making a planned gift to NYCP. They can help you determine what type of gift best suits your personal and financial circumstances.

#3: Be sure to discuss your plans with your family and friends and if you have already named NYCP in your estate plans, please let us know!

New York Common Pantry is designated as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is a publicly-supported charity under Section 509(a)(1) and qualifies for the maximum charitable contribution allowed to individual donors.
